Laura Torlaschi is a Queens-based essayist previously published in The New York Times’ Tiny Love Stories, Roxane Gay’s The Audacity, City Limits, and Petit Mort. She draws on her experience as the sex-working queer and disabled daughter of Argentinian immigrants to explore class, gender, and power. She is also a longtime organizer with Decrim NY. In 2024, she was awarded a Periplus Collective fellowship. She is currently in an interdisciplinary bachelor’s program studying the intersections of gender and labor, with a special focus on how workers negotiate with regulatory schemes.
